LESSON OF THE DAY 120

Ayahs of the Day:
O you who believe! Do your duty to Allah, seek the means of approach unto Him, and strive with might and main in His cause; that you may prosper. And to those who reject faith--if they had everything on earth, and twice repeated, to give as ransom for the penalty of the Day of judgment, it would never be accepted of them. Theirs would be a grievous penalty. [5: 35,36]

Hadith of the Day:
The person closest to Allah is one who precedes others in greeting. [Abu daud]

Wise Quote of the Day:
The wise person knows that the only fitting price for his soul is a place in Paradise. [Ibn Hazm]

Guidance of the Day:
In seeking knowledge, it is important to aspire to the highest level of learning, since man flies by his aspirations as a bird flies with its wings. The chief aids in the acquisition of things are industriousness and high ambition.

It is said "Do not make haste in your affairs but proceed slowly with them. But beware of laziness, for it is misfortune and a great calamity. For each one who does good deeds experiences happiness, while each one who acts in a lazy manner has afflictions and unhappiness. [Instruction of the student--The method of learning]

Food for Thought:
The good of anger lies in its suppression, and its expression in accordance with the dictates of wisdom. The good of passion lies in its being under the guidance of wisdom, the guidance of intellect and the sacred law.
